A traditional Canadian holiday staple that’s amazing any time of the year, the filling of this 9 ½ inch deep dish pie is made with 2 pounds (cooked weight) of the leanest, hand trimmed, home ground pork that is sautéed with chopped onions and then combined with real, homemade, hand mashed potatoes, and a combination of spices. The filling is then placed into a homemade, hand rolled pie crust. The finished pie weighs a whopping 5 pounds! The pie is then frozen.
